Tales from the Darkside seeks to understand the implications of ‘dark patterns’ on online privacy.
Dark patterns are design techniques that tricks users into performing unintended and unwanted actions.
International research claims that dark patterns steer users to the least friendly privacy options. Yet there is little understanding of what designers themselves think about dark patterns and the privacy implications of their practice.
Tales from the Darkside investigates the agency of designers to support strong privacy outcomes for users.
